CELEBRATE OUR ACHIEVEMENTS✌🏾This morning I was listening to Elroy Spoonface Powell in the Mosaic Inc Nation Clubhouse room hosted by Lesley George and Shirley Ann Felder and he was talking about the importance of celebrating our achievements. When I was growing up I was told many times to keep quiet about getting good grades in school and when I was serving in the military I was told many times that I was making everyone look bad because I was striving to live up to the Air Force’s core value of “excellence in all we do.” After I started my business, I was told “you’re doing too much.”At times, my confidence levels drop and I stop talking about my achievements because I don’t want to alienate others or make them feel “less than.” I still struggle when someone gives me a compliment, because based on past experiences, I’ve adopted a “downplay or deflect it” mentality. Hearing that celebrating our achievements is not a bad thing because it’s a testament to our hard work this morning was so powerful. It’s not selfish to celebrate even the smallest things. Takeaways: By learning to accept compliments with grace and appreciation, and celebrating our successes we’re empowering ourselves, boosting our self-esteem, and inspiring others to do the same🥂Keep on SLAYin’ until you can’t SLAY another more🔥#slay #slaytosuccess #womenveterans #celebrate #mindset #confidence
