Linda S. Bolls Obituary - 2023 (2024)

Linda S. Bolls, 78, of Kewanee, died Monday, November 20, 2023, at her home. Linda was born September 17, 1945, in Kewanee, the daughter of Henry and Hollis (Wiley) Billiet. Linda attended Kewanee Schools, graduating with the class of 1963. She also attended Illinois State University for elementary education. Linda married Clifford “Gene” Eugene Lewis, they later divorced; Bruce Gamble; he preceded her in death and Robert “Bob” Bolls; he also preceded her in death.

Linda is survived by one daughter, Paula (Jim) Anderson, Union City, MI; one son, Rodney (Susan) Lewis, Kewanee; five grandchildren, Brittany Lewis, Morgan (Jordan) Johnson, JT (Presley) Lewis, Benjamin Anderson, Nicholas Anderson; one great granddaughter, Luna and another on the way, Jett; one great grandson, Rozzi; and three brothers, Donald (Linda) Billiet, Kewanee, Ronald (Darlene) Billiet, Sterling, IL, Thomas Billiet, Fort Collins, CO. She was preceded in death by her parents and two husbands.

Linda's calling in life was to serve others. Linda worked at the Salvation Army as a director, Abilities Plus, and the Food Pantry. Linda loved her clients so much. She previously worked at Sherwin Williams, and Menards. Linda was especially proud of her work with the Angel Tree and sending kids to camp through the Salvation Army. Linda was a member of the First United Methodist Church; she was also a lay minister for the church. She was also on the board at the Food Pantry. From 1990 until 1995, along with her husband, Bruce, they served as a host for the Heifer Project International in Ceres, CA. Some of Linda’s awards included: Volunteer of the Year in 1992 & 1994 for Heifer Project International; in

2006, the Kewanee Business and Professional Women's Club Woman of the Year; in 2020, the Governor'sVolunteerService Award for Abilities Plus; and in 2021, the Volunteer Award from Abilities Plus.

Linda enjoyed going on many trips to Michigan for her grandkids’ football and basketball games. She was a huge Cubs and Bears fan. Linda also enjoyed Sunday night cards with her family.

Visitation will be from 5:00 – 8:00 pm, Tuesday, November 28, 2023, at Golnick-Schueneman Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 11:00 am, Wednesday, November 29, 2023, at the First United Methodist Church. Reverend Haley Hausman will officiate. A Private burial will take place at a later date in Pleasant View Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church or Abilities Plus.
