Air Fryer French Fries
An air fryer is a new cooking technologyby circulating hot air around the food using convention mechanism. It’s a healthy way to cook food because it only requires little oil to cook food and produce a nice crispy layer. If you love deep fried food, but want to be healthier. Therefore, using air fryer is an option. This recipe I am going to share is air fryer french fries with Asian oriental flavor seasoning.
Recently, we upgraded our toaster oven to anair fryer oven farberware brand. And, I like the air fryer oven because it requires little oil to cook food and create a nice crispy texture. However, the drawback is pretty noisy and loud. Besides, my kids enjoy air fryer French fries with my new Asian oriental seaweed seasoning recipe.
When I lived in Hong Kong, I love Hong Kong McDonald’s shake shake French fries. Hong Kong McDonald’s came out some seasoning powder packs years ago. French fries put in a bag and add seasoning pack. Then, close the bag and shake them. Thus, they called them shake shake french fries. It is amazing delicious! Hence, in this recipe has oriental seaweed flavor seasoning like Hong Kong McDonald's shake shake French fries. On the other hand, you can add any seasonings to air fryer French fries. This is one of the seasonings I like and want to share.
Ingredients:
Small potatoes 5
1 tablespoon vegetable oil
Seasoning powder (oriental flavor):
Roasted seaweed (Nori) 1 big sheet around 7x 10 inches
Kosher salt 2 teaspoons
Honey powder 1 teaspoon
*This seasoning powder can save and use for 2-3 times
Instructions:
1. Wash the potatoes and cut them into strips
2. Soak the cut potatoes in water in order to remove extra starch
3. Dry the potato strips using paper towels and put them in a mixing bowl
4. Add one tablespoon vegetable oil and toss it and make sure every potato strip is covered by oil
5. Then, put the potato strips in a roller and push the French fries setting for 400 F 32-35 minutes until its golden brown. (*remember to push rotate button)
6. In the meanwhile, add seaweed, honey powder and kosher salt in a chopper until it’s fine and small.
7. Put the French fries in a mixing bowl and add some seasoning powder (1-2 teaspoons) then toss it well. (You can add different seasoning)
